Truong An Gifts Named ACC Small Business of the Year for Perseverance and Community Impact
DENVER, CO – The Asian Chamber of Commerce (ACC) has announced Truong An Gifts and the Far East Center as the recipients of the ACC Small Business of the Year Award. This award celebrates the enduring spirit of small business owners who navigate extreme challenges while maintaining a strong commitment to community involvement and contribution.
In its announcement, the ACC noted the immense difficulties faced by AAPI small businesses in recent years, including the impacts of COVID-19, Anti-Asian Hate, and economic instability. The award recognizes businesses that push past these challenges through perseverance and dynamic entrepreneurship.
Truong An Gifts, located within the Far East Center, was honored for its long hours of dedication and its powerful role as a cultural anchor. Their key contributions include:
- District Advocacy: They actively participate in all discussions, roundtables, and projects focused on improvements for the Little Saigon Business District on Federal Boulevard.
- Community Promotion: Truong An Gifts consistently uplifts and promotes the other businesses within the Far East Center.
- Cultural Celebration: The business celebrates the community's AAPI culture by producing major events like the Lunar New Year Festival and the annual Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival.
- Innovative Marketing: They demonstrated impressive marketing by innovatively utilizing social media influence combined with the sales of popular cultural and collector items.
- Intercultural Unity: Truong An Gifts produces the annual Saigon Azteca Festival on Morrison Road in Westwood, which specifically celebrates the unity, peace, and community spirit between Denver's Asian and Latino populations.
- Historic Recognition: Adding to their accolades, the Far East Center will receive in October the 2025 Community Preservation Award from Historic Denver in the coming weeks.
